Our first programs launch with community partners across Pictou County. Every one is free to attend, taught in plain words, and built for the people the digital age forgot to include.
What it is: hands-on workshops and one-on-one sessions covering the everyday digital essentials — smartphones and tablets, email, video calls with family, online banking, and accessing government services safely.
Who it's for: seniors, new device owners, and anyone who has ever said “I'm just not a computer person.” Especially them.
What funding buys: venues, printed step-by-step guides to take home, and a loaner-device library so nobody needs to own a tablet to learn on one.
What it is: scam and fraud prevention education built around the real attacks reaching Pictou County — the bank-imposter call, the grandparent scam, fake QR codes, AI voice clones, and the text that “must be answered now.”
Who it's for: everyone with a phone — with dedicated sessions for seniors and the family members who look out for them.
What funding buys: printed “pause and check” cards for the fridge door, community talks in halls and legions, and rapid local alerts when a new scam wave hits the county.
What it is: a standing, organized web of volunteers and partner organizations: friendly check-ins, help navigating the services that already exist, and warm referrals instead of dead-end phone numbers.
Who it's for: residents who need a hand finding support — and the neighbours, churches, legions and groups who want to provide it in an organized way.
What funding buys: coordination, volunteer screening and training, and transportation support so help reaches rural households, not just town centres.
We bring workshops to halls, legions, libraries, churches and seniors' groups anywhere in Pictou County. Hosting costs you nothing — bring the people, we bring the rest.
